• We want to thank you for your interest in Central Massachusetts Independent Physician Association, LLC (CMIPA).
  
  Central Massachusetts Independent Physician Association, LLC was formed in July of 1998. Our mission is to facilitate the independent practice of Medicine in Central Massachusetts. To that end, we provide infrastructure, negotiating clout for managed care contracts as well as implements methods for dispute resolution between the health plans and hospitals.
  
  Our membership consists of over 200 independent, community physicians based in the Worcester area, with  80 primary care physicians and over 110 specialists representing most fields of medicine. While our group is independent of any hospital or medical staff, CMIPA recognizes the importance of working closely with our local hospitals to promote high-quality, cost effective care. CMIPA is committed to the ideal that patient care comes first.
  
  All new physicians joining our organization as regular members must be board certified and have privileges at Saint Vincent Hospital or UMass Memorial Health Care. All New physicians that join CMIPA are considered provisional until the Executive Committee of CMIPA vote on their full membership based upon their compliance with CMIPA performance guidelines and utilization requirements.

  As a provisional member of the CMIPA, you are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of all the benefits of the organization. CMIPA offers discounted health insurance for our physicians and their practices.
